Take IELTS Academic if you are applying to study at a university or for professional registration. Take General Training for work experience, training programmes or migration (e.g. Canada, Australia, UK). Listening and Speaking are the same in both; Reading and Writing differ.

Most students need 6–10 weeks of focused practice to improve by 0.5–1.0 band. The courses are self-paced, so you can move faster if your exam date is close.
